Igreja Matriz de Santo Antônio
Built in 1769 its construction is great example of the Luso-Brazilian architecture of the second half of the eighteenth century, by employing the technique of stone removal of Serra's Monk. Located in the Praça General Carneiro.
Arcos da Lapa
The Aqueduto Carioca , popularly known as the Arcos da Lapa, is a major city postcards and a memory alive and well preserved Old River. It is considered the largest sized architectural work of the colonial period. The imposing building in Roman style is 17.6 meters high, 270 meters long and 42 Roman-style arches, connecting the neighborhood of Santa Teresa to Morro de Santo Antonio.
Historic Center (Centro Histórico)
The Lapa has in its Historic Center 14 blocks with 235 properties. In this space, many homes that keep the typical architecture of the wealthy classes. Whitewashed houses, pink, yellow or blue, high ceilings, all witnesses of history. Houses that bring a bit far from each century, without losing the identity and enchantment. .Since 1938 tried to preserve this precious heritage. After years of continuous effort, in August 1989, the rules of use of the historic section with all the details surrounding the houses and landscapes integrated, were listed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage thereby preserving the memory of a past certainly unforgettable .
